The master bathroom gets tiled. I'm really happy with the way it looks. Too bad J.R. Cobbler, the plumber is working in Steamboat Springs, CO. I need a plumber I can trust to install the clawfoot tub. |
I'm staying with the French Country look using Fleur de Lis. |
This is where the claw foot tub will go. |

Another picture of my awesome
shower!
Unfortunately, we can't finish the tile until the window trim is added and the bathroom and closet doors arrive. I just ordered them today and it will be about 3 weeks till they arrive. |
I've stained all the upstairs doors that have been installed. I've only got one polyurethaned. Maybe I can get them done next weekend. |
A closeup of the door handles I chose for the inside doors. |
Looking down on the living room from one of the upstairs balconies. I am amazed at how good the floors look after they were sanded. All the termite damage on the right side has been removed and replaced with new oak flooring. Thank goodness it wasn't a big area! |

This is the view from the dining room. |

I got this door stained and polyurethaned this weekend. Still have to do the windows. The floor should get stained tomorrow (09/17). |
Standing on the staircase looking into the dining room. There are some blackish spots that I hope staining will make less noticable. Lori D. says it will just give the house more character. :-) |
| I lightly sanded these doors and added another coat of polyurethane. Can't tell anything in the lighting of the picture. |
Someday this will be a flared oak staircase with oak railings around the balconies. The two wood posts will be wrapped in oak to look like square pillars. The door at the top of the staircase is the guest bathroom. I stained that door and the master bedroom door this evening. (09/16) Who has time for dating when I can have all this fun by myself?!?!?!?! |
This is the solarium (downstairs front room) with the first coat of stain. |
Another view of the solarium. Dad......this could be your room if you guys decided you wanted to visit Topeka! |
The office is the only room with Douglas Fir flooring. What's weird is this kind of pine is more expensive then oak. I'm glad I only had to patch in a 3' x 10' section. I'm thinking another coat of stain will make this look a little bit closer to what I hoped for. |
